Nike gift card slider packaging design
Nike’s Goal: Improve the buying experience for third party Nike gift card consumers.
Nike’s Strategy: Create a gift card carrying case that is “gift-able”, falls in line with other premium Nike products and meets third party creative specifications.
Nike’s Tactic: Work with Burgopak to create a package that meets space criteria in 3rd party doors, but also shows up as innovative, fresh and meets the consumer’s need, to purchase a gift card that is ready to be gifted, already in a gift-able package. Match the current graphic guidelines in an innovative and engaging way.
The Design: The product incorporates Burgopak’s patented slider design and a durable perforated sombrero hook tab that allows the package to be placed on endcap display pegs and, once purchased, the tab is easily torn off, converting the pack into a desirable gift holder. The card is hidden within the slider and is visible when slid out, which also slides out the top of the packaging, revealing the complete package image.
End Result: Nike gift card packs are available in end cap aisle displays within thousands of various US grocery and pharmacy stores nation-wide. Results have been positive, including higher average consumer spend on the cards and higher perceived value.
